The Cry

In this tract the contrast is discussed between the prayers of the Pharisee and the Publican. One spoke of his self-righteousness, while the other understood his need as a sinner before God. God heard the Publican’s cry for mercy “to me a sinner” and in contrast to the other, he “went down to his house justified”. We too must understand our need as sinners before we can know the forgiveness of our sins.
